Diliza Moabi is an acclaimed film editor & director with a career spanning two decades working for reputable companies such Times Media Television now Ochre Media, where his career in television began, then joining the likes of Gatehouse, Velocity Africa, Terraplane Digital, Quizzical Pictures, Red Pepper Studios, and many more. He has crafted groundbreaking content for South African broadcasters such as Multichoice, SABC and ETV.
After graduating from Newtown Film School, Diliza began his career as an assistant editor, gradually working his way up to editor. Over the years, he expanded his expertise to include directing, seamlessly navigating various genres—including television, music videos, commercials, short films, television dramas, and documentaries.
He strives to create immersive, vibrant worlds where film and music becomes a character, blending cinematic drama with authenticity to captivate audiences and evoke lasting impact. His work aspires to inspire, educate, and connect, bringing the magic of storytelling to the screen with passion and artistry.
Beyond his remarkable contributions as a film practitioner, he is a senior member of SAGE (South African Guild Of Editors) and serves as a Co-Chairperson of the jury for the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). These esteemed roles exemplifies his industry expertise and significant recognition, as he diligently evaluates and acknowledges exceptional South African stories in the realm of film and television.
